A general specification for a 15.24 metre (50') cruiser stern narrowboat.

Hull and Cabin steelwork

Bottom Plates 10mm.
Hull Sides 6mm.
Cabin sides 4mm
Roof 4mm with 75mm curvature.
Base Plate Framing 100 x 75 x 8mm. (nominal 635mm centres)
Knees and stringers 60 x 60 x 8mm. (nominal 635mm centres)
Cabin Framing 30 x 30 x 5mm. Angle.
Cabin roof bearers 25 x 25 x 2.5mm. box section. (nominal 300mm centres)
Rubbing Strakes 50mm. x 13mm. convex - four at bow, three at stern including two full length. 
Diesel Tanks- Integral, Main tank: nominal capacity 225 ltrs. Pressure tested with vent and flame guard fitted. 
Water tank- Integral with two take off points, below self draining well deck. Minimum capacity 850 ltrs. 
Gas Locker- Forward locker of a size to contain two 13kg. cylinders with retainers.
Weed Hatch- Quick release type.
Rudder and tiller- 50mm dia. stock with tapered top, single bolt fitting. Balanced blade. Swans neck 38mm dia. with brass/wooden extension.
External doors / Sliding Hatch- fabricated in steel with timber infill panels.

Sundries
Bow tee stud, two stern dollies. Welded steel cants to bow. Traditional style handrail.

Painting
The hull will be given two coats of Bitumen based paint up to the top rubbing strake. All other surfaces will be primed followed by an undercoat and a further two coats of gloss. The price will allow for a two part colour scheme and includes a single coachline.

Engines
An ISUZU 4LC38 and PRM 150 Gearbox (alternative power units can be supplied if requested). The installation package will include:- keel cooling, Aquadrive coupling, flexible mounts, 70 amp. alternator supplying three 110 amp deep cycle batteries with a separate starter battery (split charge), control panel with hour meter, keyswitch and engine default warning lights. A stern tube lubricator and bilge pump would also be fitted. As would a single lever engine control.

Ballast
Ballast will be concrete paving slabs placed under floor as required by design and trim.

Insulation
The hull will be lined with 50mm flame retardant polystyrene sheet and the cabin sides with 25mm. 

Windows and Doors
Six 900mm and two 450mm aluminium top hopper windows are used in combination with two brass portholes. All exterior doors are steel fabricated with welded hinges for security. These doors are lined with timber. 

Ventilation
Ventilation will be fitted in accordance with current legislation, with due regard to appliances and use.

Internals
Floors are laid in 18mm. (treated) Far Eastern plywood laid on treated bearers.
Hull will be lined in 9mm. veneered ply. Cabin sides will be lined in 6mm veneered ply. Headlining will be 6mm veneered ply. Bulkheads and internal doors are constructed from 18mm veneered blockboard. All edges are capped in hardwood. Finished with four coats of varnish on all surfaces. 

Services
Water will be supplied by electric pumps and delivered via concealed polybutylene pipework. Hot water is supplied from the 45 Ltr calorifier tank, heated by the engine and central heating boiler
Gas will be supplied from 13kg. gas cylinders in forward locker.
Lighting provided by low voltage fluorescent lights, two per cabin.
Heating will be provided by an Eberspacher D5W diesel fired boiler with a radiator in each cabin (excluding the galley). 

The Interior
The galley will incorporate a four burner gas cooker with oven and grill. 
A 113 litre, 12-volt electric refrigerator. Base units with cupboards and drawers under a postformed work top, in choice of colours, with inset stainless steel sink and drainer with mixer tap and seperate drinking water filter. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Bathroom will include a shower with laminated surround including shower curtain. 12v Electric shower emptying pump, a vanity unit with basin and a cassette toilet.

The Bedroom will contain a double bed with spring interior mattress six feet six inches by four feet with storage under. A full height wardrobe will be fitted.

 

 

 

 



The Saloon Will allow space for free standing furniture (not included)

Safety and Navigation Equipment
Bow and stern fenders will be fitted and two mooring lines supplied. Three fire extinguishers and a fire blanket will be fitted internally.

All boats are supplied with documentation in accordance with the European Pleasure Craft Directive and UK Boat Safety Scheme requirements.
